Ability Institute
The unique design of this major new research-focused medical center is about creativity and inventing. The hospital embraces an iterative rather than linear process of clinical care and recovery medicine and integrating the intellectual with the artistic. RIC aims to transform the entire structure of their organization and will exert strong influence on the field of rehabilitation to adopt translational methods, integrating science directly with clinical care to achieve never-before-possible outcomes for patients.
The facility consists of 5 innovation centers: (1) Brain, (2) Spinal Cord, (3) Nerve, Muscle & Bone, (4) Pediatric Rehabilitation, (5) and Cardiac Rehabilitation. It will have 1.2 million square feet of floor space, including 900,000 square feet dedicated to clinical/research programs and a capacity of 242 beds.
For this project, E Cube is providing a comprehensive commissioning process modeled after the LEED Fundamental Cx Prerequisite and Enhanced Cx Credit. Commissioning services include mechanical, building automation, electrical power distribution, emergency power, lighting controls, and plumbing domestic water systems.
