Facebook’s goal was to build one of the most energy-efficient Data Centers in the world. The facility uses a low-energy system that pumps cool air from outside into the building, and is further cooled through evaporation. Facebook also uses custom-made servers that use 38% less energy and can operate at higher space temperatures—thus reducing cooling needs. Overall, the Facebook facility uses 52% less energy than other data center facilities. Furthermore, in an attempt to cut down on the massive amounts of energy that the industry uses, Facebook is sharing the technology used for their center and customized servers with other internet companies.
E Cube provided both Fundamental and Enhanced LEED commissioning services on all mechanical systems.
I wanted to take this opportunity to express the DPR/Fortis team’s appreciation of the effort Emerson and E-Cube have put into the commissioning of the project…. We look forward to further opportunities to work with you.”
