E Cube is working with Lend Lease to provide commissioning services for this ground-up 30-story, 196 room hotel tower. The tower is located in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood and consists of an extended-stay Hilton Homewood Suites hotel as well as privately owned condominiums atop the building.
All hotel guest rooms will have a kitchen, eating area, and full-size sofas to make a home away from home feel more like home. To meet the brand model, Homewood Suites is providing an amenity floor with indoor and outdoor spaces including a pool, oversized fitness center, lodge, meeting rooms, and a flexible terrace complete with a garden and gas grills for guest use.
The residential portion sits atop the building with what will be panoramic views of the city and Lake Michigan. All condominiums will be finished to a level consistent with what one would expect in an upper-end city residence. Condo residents will also enjoy the view from their own private fitness center at the very top of the building, and views were the driving force behind the thoughtfully placed bay windows in certain units.
Key systems include high-efficiency heat pumps in each hotel and condo unit, central condenser water plant with cooling tower and associated pumps, high-efficiency condensing hot water boilers, high-efficiency domestic water heaters, dedicated outside air makeup units, multiple exhaust systems for toilets, dryers, kitchen and garage, and a full DDC building automation system.
