This 200,000 square foot complex of new and renovated residence halls on the south end of Loyola’s campus are under concurrent design by SCB and H+P. The existing 11-story Wright Hall’s lower three levels will be completely overhauled and expanded for state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratory space, and a greenhouse. The new, contiguous San Francisco Residence Hall will house dormitories within a 6-story courtyard building and 3-story north wing extension. A 3-story podium for student amenities will feature a dining hall, large lobby, recreational spaces and a crowning greenhouse. The new 6-story DiNobili Hall across the street completes this phase of work at Loyola’s main lakefront campus.
Major building systems include geothermal heat pumps, chilled beams, high-efficiency condensing boilers, fume hoods, laboratory exhaust systems and controls, radiant panels, natural ventilation, solar shading, advanced daylighting and high-efficiency domestic water heating.
