Milton Friedman Institute for Research in Economics

This keystone project includes a complete renovation of one of the University’s historic 1923 buildings (Chicago Theological Seminary), and a modern 37,000 SF addition. The combined facility will house the Department of Economics and the Milton Friedman Institute for Research in Economics. Key spaces will include department chair and administrative offices, classrooms, seminar rooms, conference facilities, library, computing facilities and common areas for social interaction.

Working with the team in a hybrid Integrated Project Delivery process, E Cube is completing LEED Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning services for the mechanical, electrical, HVAC controls, life safety, plumbing, lighting controls and emergency backup systems. Major MEP systems include campus chilled water and steam, high-efficiency energy recovery air-handling units, active chilled beams, and advanced digital lighting controls.
