New Building Commissioning
Commissioning of new, mission-critical facilities comprises most of our business. Since inception, E Cube has focused on providing industry-leading commissioning services for highly complex facilities such as hospitals, laboratories, central utility plants and information technology centers. This focus has naturally led to assisting clients in many other building sectors.
E Cube uses a structured, yet flexible commissioning process based on leading industry guidelines, codes and standards. This process has been refined through decades of experience and is scalable over a wide range of building types, complexities, and sizes. We tailor our process to each project’s needs with the Owner’s best interest in mind.
We continuously evolve our process to incorporate key advancements and approaches such as temperature controls system bench testing, pre-fabricated construction, analytics, fault detection, automated commissioning and more.
Existing Building Commissioning
One of the more important ways in which E Cube assists our clients is with their existing building portfolios. In fact, E Cube’s history began with a strong emphasis on efficiency and operational improvements for existing buildings. Today, we continue to use data driven techniques to solve immediate facility issues, provide facility-wide commissioning and help clients develop long-term solutions. Where appropriate, we employ analytics and technology to maximize our review of facility issues.
Specifically, this translates to conducting focused, short-term testing on problematic systems to provide immediate solutions, providing facility-wide re-commissioning or retro-commissioning to improve the operational health of a facility, leveraging analytics and fault detection diagnostics to continuously identify on-going issues, and evaluating operation and maintenance practices for tangible improvements.
Building Enclosure Commissioning
E Cube provides comprehensive building envelope commissioning and performance verification throughout design and construction. We offer design assistance informed by experience and forensic investigation insight, helping project teams identify and address enclosure risks as early as possible. Through performance verification testing, we evaluate enclosure systems to improve air tightness, reduce the risk of moisture intrusion, and support delivery of the envelope to meet or exceed performance expectations. This proactive approach mitigates change orders, shortens schedules, avoids delays, and delivers a clear BECx value proposition for owners and project teams.
Fault Detection, Diagnostics and Analytics
With operations spanning five decades, our staff are experts in utilizing software analytics. Our work began with use of localized data logging and monitoring tools and continues today with fault detection, diagnostics and analytics software and artificial intelligence tools. Information from these sources provides our clients with quick and clear information about current and potential facility performance issues. As with all of our services, this service is customized to focus on areas that benefit our clients the most.
Sustainability, Energy-Efficiency, Environment
E Cube’s commissioning work is dedicated to promoting sustainability, Energy-Efficiency, and Environmental responsibility (the three E’s in our name). Since the early 1990’s, we have focused our efforts on ensuring facility performance in these areas by supporting teams with design solutions, testing methodologies and long-term facility accountability.
In addition, we support our clients by providing energy modelling, monitoring based-commissioning, measurement & verification and maintenance management support services to help ensure facility performance over time.
